view of enterprise education
What can £5 buy you, these days? Maybe a magazine, a few
chocolate bars, the latest No.1 single? Not much when you really
think about it. But how about £150 or even £1500 – now
that’s money worth talking about!
Something exciting is happening in Rotherham and your school could
be involved. Local businesses are partnering up with classes of
young people to, ‘Make £5 Blossom.’
You and your classmates would be given £5 each with which
to start a business and turn a profit. You can work alone or in
teams – whichever works best for you – to launch an
idea or product.
There is only one condition, your £5 is a loan - you have
to make sure you pay it back, but that shouldn’t be a problem
once those businesses start booming!
This new scheme is already in action throughout several schools
in Rotherham and kids your age are working with professional business
people to make money and put creative ideas into practice.
