JD Approach and the Rotherham Ready Girls into Enterprise Summer
School
Rotherham
Ready's Girls into Enterprise Summer School is helping 32 Year
9 girls from five Rotherham Schools develop their entrepreneurial
talents. A series of 7 enterprise days will develop the girls'
enterprise skills and knowledge, helping them set up their own
business in school, building their confidence and presenting them
with increased options for their future careers. They will also
achieve an Award in Developing Enterprise Capabilities, giving
them a flying start to their GCSE year!
JD Approach
Ltd – Directors, Deborah Adshead and Jessica
Zeun JD Approach is an IT company
specialising in providing a full range of services
to small businesses; from getting online, installing
networks, creating websites and planning new systems
to resolving current IT problems. We offer a central
point of contact for companies to come to for all their
IT requirements.
Being women in IT
we are acutely aware that we are hugely underrepresented
in our chosen field of work and as such are committed
to helping other females to develop a career in what
is an exciting, fast-paced industry that has much to
offer. To reverse current trends of falling numbers
of girls undertaking computing degrees at university
we believe it is vital to engage them from an early
age and encourage them to develop an interest in the
subject. We hope that by engaging with Rotherham Ready
and the Investors in Education programmes we will be
able to dispel the myths surrounding jobs in computing
and inspire some female technology pioneers of the
future.
