Wickersley School Triumph in National Enterprise Competition

The winning team with celebrity judgeWickersley School and Sports College have triumphed over more than 5,700 teams to win the School category of the national Make Your Mark Challenge.

The group pioneered ‘Truck Trackers’ which delivers goods for small companies unable to fill an entire truck.

Truck Trackers would help to reduce emissions and support charity work in the third world. The team claimed a prize of £3,000 for their school and £100 worth of vouchers for each member.

Enterprise Co-ordinator, Michelle Marshall worked with the group on their innovative idea and said:

“We definitely want to integrate enterprise into every aspect of the curriculum this year.”

Judges included Levi Roots, whose Reggae Reggae sauce won investment from the BBC’s Dragons’ Den and Matt Littler, who plays Max Cunningham in Hollyoaks. Matt said:

“The team showed the understanding of business and marketing practice necessary to take it to the next level. I believe I may well have seen the next Sir Alan here today!”
