News: Excellence in Enterprise – 11th March 2009

Posted on: March 12th, 2009

On Wednesday 11th March 2009, at the Holiday Inn in Rotherham, Rotherham Ready were proud to announce the launch of “Excellence in Enterprise”.

The event brought together delegates from far and wide across the UK including representatives from the DCSF, SSAT, Warwick CEI, Yorkshire Forward, YPEF and a number of other regional partners and project friends. Students and teachers in Rotherham, from Early Years to Post 16, did themselves proud, showcasing high quality displays, running workshops and hosting a very eventful market place.

With key note speeches from Will Ryan, successful author and school effectiveness advisor and Ruth Badger of hit BBC series: The Apprentice, delegates were treated to a full day of enterprise teaching and learning discovery. Students from Anston Greenlands J&I, Sitwell Infants School, Thorpe Hesley Junior School, Wickersley School & Sports College and Hilltop Special School also took to the stage to share their views and experiences of enterprise in Rotherham.

The Rotherham Ready team were also able to utilise this opportunity to announce the official launch of the Rotherham Centre for Excellence in Enterprise (which will once again, be practitioner led) and were presented, as a project, with the Warwick CEI Platinum Award for Excellence in Enterprise by Professor Pru Huddleston and Malcolm Hoare, Regional Director from the University.

The ‘Excellence in Enterprise’ event was a great success and the Rotherham Ready team would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in the organisation, planning, displays, market stalls and presentations which took place on the day.

Thanks once again.
