News: Will you be growing for Rothermunch?

Posted on: April 26th, 2010

This innovative campaign has now begun sowing its seeds with over 30 Rotherham schools after a successful launch on Thursday 22nd April at Wingfield Business & Enterprise College. Hosted by Lee Bestall, the man behind the project, the launch challenged staff and local allotment holders to grow for the big Rothermunch lunch being held on 29th June at Magna, as part of the Local Authority Children’s Festival.

The launch gave Rotherham practitioners the practical tips for growing a range of vegetables and herbs as well as demonstrations on what can be done in the time allowed, before sending them packing with bundles of resources to get growing for Rothermunch.

Over 60 Rotherham schools will now begin their growing fun and contribute to the Rothermunch lunch!

Although the clock is ticking, there is still time to get involved and so if you want to grow for Rothermunch, let us know!
