News: Carnival Atmosphere at the Enterprise Learning Market.

Posted on: June 30th, 2014

There was a real carnival atmosphere at Rotherham Ready’s Enterprise Learning Market as part of Rotherham Children’s Festival in June. New York Stadium was a buzz of activity with flash mob singing, dance performances and a range of hand made and home grown products and produce from over 15 Rotherham Schools trading at the market.
Children from across the schools were busy selling their products from baked goods, upcycled jewellery and some impressive clothing made by fashion students at Rotherham College of Arts and Technology. The schools made a combined total of just under £1000 profits that they can use to fund their own projects and resources for learning back at school.
School staff, parents and children alike said that they had a really enjoyable day and that the carnival and dancing made it feel really lively and the number of people visiting and buying goods gave a real life enterprise experience for the children.
Well done and thank you to all the schools and other partners involved in making the day such a success. For more information about up and coming enterprise activities and events please contact Kate Penney on kate.penney@rotherham.gov.uk or call 01709 380906
