News: Rotherham Ready named as High Impact Host at Global Entrepreneurship Week

Posted on: December 15th, 2014

It was a great week in Rotherham for Global Entrepreneurship Week at the end of November. Rotherham Ready and Rotherham Youth Enterprise (RYE) have been awarded High Impact status for the range of enterprising and entrepreneurial activities organised for and attended by primary, secondary and Further Education learners, as well as business people and entrepreneurs across Rotherham and South Yorkshire.
Over 1000 attendees from secondary, FE and the unemployed community came to the LEAF event hosted by Magna to learn about career and learning opportunities in the region with people even gaining employment on the day.
Sixth form schools from across Rotherham participated in RYE’s business challenge and wowed judges with their pitches, creativity and business know how.
Primaries and Secondary Schools linked with STEM mentors to come up with an idea that would protect people, places and the environment. Some real innovation and enterprise was demonstrated and we had a tour of Rotherham College’s industry standard media training facilities.
Thank you to everyone who got involved and connected people across Rotherham with so many enterprise opportunities.
