20 2007 Young Journalists get
the scoop!
Around 350 people attended the action-packed e-Attain 2007 event
at the Magna Science Centre this week and Rotherham’s young
journalists handled the press like true professionals!
Attendees were treated to high profile speakers, interesting presentations
and the chance to test a range of education products.
20 schools from Rotherham came together for this special event
and 150 young people did presentations in the form of drama, song
and dance.
During the event, an enthusiastic group of primary school Cub Reporters
and secondary school Student Journalists took on the challenge
of writing press releases and newsletters, assisted by editors
from a local newspaper.
The Rotherham Student Journalist Project gives budding young writers
a behind-the-scenes look into the world of journalism.
Recently, the project has taken an even more exciting turn as primary
school children are now following in the young journalists’ footsteps
as ‘Cub Reporters’.
