The
innovative ‘Make £5 Blossom’ is set
to make waves in education, but to do so; it needs
the support and encouragement of willing teachers.
Rotherham Ready has been engaging with local businesses to give
them a chance to invest in the borough’s young people by
loaning £150 to a class of eager pupils.
After training, each pupil receives an initial investment of £5
and, working either individually or in groups, the pupils have
to launch a business and make a profit – enabling them to
pay back their loan.
This scheme involves mentoring from people with real life business
experience and gives children the autonomy to tackle relevant problems,
take responsibility for their own actions and engage in real issues.
